The Fire Department was established in 1924 as the Montour Valley Fire Department. It was changed in 1936 to the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department. The department started out with one fire engine. Now, it operates with Four Engines, One Rescue Truck, Two Brush Truck, Squad Truck and a Chief's Car. We are very aware of the growth taking place in Findlay Township and are always updating our equipment and firefighting techniques.
The Annual Carnival is held the second week of June each year. Other events include bingo every Monday night at the Findlay Township Activity Center. Our main firehouse is located at 115 Main Street in Imperial.
Our substations are located on Matchette Road in Clinton and on Aten Road. Approximately forty-five volunteer fire fighters work out of these locations. This coverage provides superior fire protection to serve all of Findlay Township.
The Imperial Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for good people to help the organization. Applications may be obtained at the main firehouse any Monday or Wednesday evening.
Residents of Findlay Township who are in need of fire/rescue services should call: 724 695-7777 or 9-1-1. |
